Ivy – Partnerships
If you’re not in a partnership at the moment you’re certainly open to it now. If you are in an older union it is a good time to re-enforce your vows. A celebration is in the offing. We all need these relationships and they should be acknowledged. Not all relationships are sexual, of course, some are about those with whom you have a like mind and shared experiences. However they manifest themselves, this is a time when the relationships forged are bound by magical chains.
The berry and leaves were used for a variety of ailments by the apothocary, here are som I found; verrucas, headaches, hangovers, neuralgia, toothache, rheumatics, sores, the dispersal of kidney stones, the plague and the purging of worms. The Ivy’s healing elements were antispasmodic.
The Ivy represents unions, the fidelity and loyalty that these relationships thrive upon. Often still used in wedding bouquets for this symbolism, it also survives in the church carvings and the language of art.
