Key phrases: Understanding through the mind; travel and further education; matured confidence; looking for open doors; restless energy; healing of spirit and meditation.

The Ash embodies the spirit of adventure. It naturally creates the desire to explore foreign ground and further the vision. This desire can manifest in many ways. The most direct one is to physically remove one from one place to another. With travel, the journey becomes as important as the place one is going to.

The Ash is one of the tallest trees in the woodland. It propagates by seeds which can spread over a great distance. The timber is a natural shock absorber and is often used for bats, mallets, cues etc. Sculls and oars were traditionally made from the long, straight branches.

In Teutonic mythology the first man was born of the Ash tree. Odin was also hung on the Ash before he was given the knowledge of the runes. Achoice of wood for the staff, it has long been favoured by Druids and the like for this purpose.
